How do I apply?
Just visit our ‘apply’ section and follow the instructions there.
How long does it take to apply online?
About 30 minutes. You don’t have to apply all at once. You can do it in stages and save each section as you go along.
I’ve made a mistake on my application. What should I do?
You can return to any section and change the information.
I’ve recently changed my email address. How can I update my details?
You’re welcome to go back to your application and change any personal information.
I’ve forgotten or lost my user name... and my password, too. What’s the next step?
Please send us your details and we’ll send you a new password.
What is the deadline for my application?
If there is a deadline, it will be on the web posting or advert.
I’ve applied to HBOS before. Can I reapply?
Yes. There are so many jobs and business areas, you’re sure to find something that’s right for your talents and goals.
I’m disabled. Can I still apply?
We welcome applications from disabled people and are proud of our status as a two-tick employer. Let us know what adjustments you’ll need and we’ll contact you to let you know they’re in place.
Do I need a work permit?
Yes. We will ask you for evidence of the right to work in the UK.
Is work experience essential, or can I join without it?
This depends on the role – for some it’s a big advantage and for others it’s not necessary. We’ll offer you all the training and support you need to get up to speed.
Do I need any qualifications to join BoSIS?
Every job is different. If specific qualifications are needed, they will be made clear in the web posting or advert.
Selection
When will I be interviewed?
This will vary with the role. We’ll let you know after we’ve received your application.
What are the interviews like?
That depends on the role and area you want to work in. We’ll supply all the details at the first stage of the application process.
What checks will be undertaken if I am successful for a role?
As part of your application, we will make several background checks to assess your suitability. Depending on the role you have applied for, we will request references to cover all employment, educational or vocational work over the last 5 years. We will also conduct a credit reference and integrity check, to ensure that you meet our requirements. An identification check and your Right to work in the UK will be confirmed through sight of either your passport or full driving licence, a copy of which would have been taken at the time of your interview or assessment centre.
Benefits
Will BoSIS support study for external qualifications?
Yes, we’ll support you through the attainment of qualifications that are relevant to your role and meet other criteria. You’re welcome to bring this up at your interview.
