The Roles

Client Managers

We currently have vacancies for Client Managers within three different channels: Regulated Sales, Bank of Scotland Relationships and Portfolio Management.

Our Client Managers are responsible for identifying quality new business opportunities. These can come from a number of different sources:

  • Existing Clients - BoSIS has a substantial client base that requires ongoing servicing and generates significant opportunities for new business;
  • Referrals – achieved by developing excellent relationships with existing clients, these recommendations are an essential part of the role;
  • Leads from business partners – strong relationships are also the key to working with our business partners and identifying reciprocal business opportunities;
  • Direct approach - contacting relevant business and professional practices, where we know our products meet their needs.

Identifying possible business sources is one thing, bringing them to fruition demands much more. Our Client Managers need to excel at communicating not only face-to-face, but also over the telephone. They need to be able to get through to the right people and to ensure appointments are made.

Those appointments provide the opportunity to engage clients in a thorough analysis of their financial affairs: allowing us to understand the clients' current circumstances and their financial objectives. Effective solutions can then be planned, recommended and, most importantly, implemented.

It is a matter of good professional practice for such financial transactions to be properly documented. With the assistance of state-of-the-art sales support systems, the Client Manager completes the implementation of a sale by recording the advice in a report to the client. Key information is also captured from the sales process, enabling future needs and sales opportunities to be identified.

The most persuasive case for gaining referrals is through the high quality of the advice provided. It is in this way that our Client Managers successfully continue to develop a portfolio of high net worth clients.

The skills and qualifications needed are:

  • A good understanding of regulatory and legislative requirements;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • A thorough understanding and experience of high net worth/mass affluent customer propositions and markets;
  • Excellent presentation skills;
  • Effective planning, organising and administrative skills;
  • Certificate in Financial Planning qualification 1-4 or equivalent;
  • A willingness to work towards a Diploma in Financial Planning or equivalent.

An Area Manager will need a good understanding of regulatory and legislative requirements, a talent for building relationships and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
